Our Service - Albemarle Curbside Recycling Servicing Charlottesville and Albemarle

-Each neighborhood needs to have at least 6 participating households

-Recycling will be collected on the 1^st and 3^rd Saturdays of each month

-All recyclables should be curbside by 9 a.m. for collection

-The fee is only $15 per month per household

-Recyclables may be placed in your own container or you may purchase a container from us

-Glass, plastic and aluminum should be placed in the bin

-Newspaper, magazines should be placed in a brown paper bag adjacent to the bin

-Please separate newspapers/magazines from office paper from paperboard/brown paper

-We will accept tires and appliances with prior notice and an additional fee

Acceptable Recyclables:

▪ Mixed Paper/Brown Paper: wrapping paper, packing paper, etc.

▪ Office Paper: junk mail, copy/printer paper

▪ Newspaper and Magazines including catalogs

▪ Corrugated Cardboard (cannot have a waxy coating)

▪ Old Books: soft and hard back

▪ Telephone Books

▪ Glass: clear, blue, green, brown and yellow (co-mingled)

▪ Aluminum and Steel Cans

▪ Plastic containers marked #1 and #2: beverage, detergent, shampoo, salad, mustard and ketchup.

▪ Fluorescent Light Tubes:

▪ Compact Fluorescent Bulbs

▪ Cell Phones

All recyclables accepted by McIntire Recycling center will be accepted.
